Iranian Students Win World Volleyball Championship

TEHRAN – Iran’s national student volleyball team won the world championship after defeating Germany 3-0 in Serbia on Sunday.
Iran’s national student volleyball team, which had advanced to the final match of the world student competition with six victories in a row against Uganda, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and Chinese Taipei, played against Germany on Sunday. The Iranian players continued their brilliant games in Belgrade and were able to defeat their opponent and became the world champions.
The Iranian student volleyball team beat the German team in three straight sets. 
The Iranian side defeated the European country in the first set 25-21, in the second set 25-18 and in the third set 26-24 and won the world championship title with that decisive victory.
Iran’s President Ebrahim Raeisi has felicitated winning the world championship title by Iran’s national student volleyball team in Serbia.
In a congratulatory message on Monday, President Raeisi congratulated the Iranian nation, volleyball players, and coaches on the championships of Iran’s national student volleyball team in the world tournament.
Addressing the elite students and coaches of the national student volleyball team of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Raeisi underlined, “The Iranian nation is proud of your strong, worthy presence, and brilliant performance in the field of volleyball competitions”.
He added, “This victory represents the emergence of talent, effort, and competence of Iranian children and shows the importance of student sport as a true backbone of national sport in the path to the realization of strong sport for strong Iran.”
