Salaam dear young friends. New Year greetings to you all; hope you have enjoyed your annual spring holidays. We are meeting after a two-week gap, which means this is our first chat of the year 1403 solar hijri.
As you all know, this year’s Nowruz holidays were coincided with the blessed month of Ramadhan. It is nice to have a chat with you after the refreshing you went through over the past few days during the Grand Nights of Qadr. May God accept your earnest endeavours!
The Grand Nights of Qadr are indeed a great blessing from the Lord Most High. It is the turning point of the year. Actually it is the start of the new spiritual year, since it is on these blessed nights that God decrees the happenings in our personal and social life till next year’s Grand Nights.
Different cultures have different calendar years. In the West, the New Year starts on January 1. In Iran the solar hijri year begins on the 1st of Farvardin (20th March). In Arab countries, the first of Muharram is considered the start of the lunar hijri year. The Chinese and the Indians have their own new years.
The people observing the above mentioned dates pray and request God for blessings. The All-Merciful does accept the requests of His creatures and grants them something on the days they observer as per their respective cultures.
But the Almighty Creator, Who controls our destinies, has decreed three alternate nights of the blessed month of Ramadhan on which year-long happenings are determined. As ayahs 3 to 5 of Surah Qadr say:
“The Night of Grandeur is better than a thousand months. The Angels and the Spirit descend therein by the permission of their Lord for (decreeing) every affair. Peace! It is till the breaking of the dawn.”
The Holy Qur’an further says in ayahs 3 to 5 of Surah Dukhan – which we so devoutly recited on the 23rd eve of blessed Ramadhan:
“Surely We revealed it on the Blessed Night (Laylat al-Mubareka). Indeed We are ever warning. Therein every wise affair is made distinct. A command from Us; surely We are the senders.”
When asked about Allah’s saying “We revealed it on Laylat al-Mubareka or the Blessed Night...” Prophet Muhammad’s (SAWA) 5th Infallible Heir, Imam Mohammad Baqer (AS) replied:
“Yes, it is Laylat-al-Qadr, it comes every year, in the month of Ramadhan, during its last ten nights. The Qur’an was not sent down but on the Night of Grandeur as Allah says: In it every wise affair is made clear. That is, He decrees that night everything to happen during the year...”
The hour is nigh. Surely the hour will come when these satanic regimes and devilish outfits will be wiped out forever from the face of the earth, as promised by God – with the advent of the Saviour of mankind, the Prophet’s 12th and Last Infallible Heir, Imam Mahdi (AS).
The Imam to whom the angels descend on the Grand Nights of Qadr for finalization of the fates of every individual will reappear with Prophet Jesus (AS) as his assistant to establish the global government of peace, prosperity, and justice.
