It will start on the occasion of Mab’ath (marking anniversary of the day when Muhammad (Peace Be upon Him) was ordered by Allah to declare his Prophet Hood to the world).
The competition will take place in the categories of memorization of the entire Quran and Tahghigh recitation of the Quran.
It will run for a week and come to a conclusion during the closing ceremony on Friday, May 22.
Quran recites and memorizers from various Muslim and non-Muslim countries will compete in the week-long international Quranic event.
Hassan Danesh and Mohammad Mehdi Rajabi will respectively represent Iran in the recitation and memorization category of the contest.
Iran’s international Quran competition is annually held in the lunar month of Rajab by the country’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization.
