Today is a Red-Letter day in the history of Iran which 45 years ago with the return home of the Father of the Islamic Revolution from 15 years of exile, started the Ten-Day Dawn that resulted on February 11 in the liberation of the country from the yoke of the British-installed and American-backed Pahlavi regime, to usher changes not just at the national and regional levels but on a global scale.
Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace) had aptly described the grassroots movement of the Iranian people as a “burst of light”.
Today if this supernova, lights up the path of nations in the neighbourhood and beyond to assert their independence from domestic despotism and foreign hegemony, its brilliant rays has blind the enemies of Iran, Islam, and humanity.
Iran’s progress over the past four-and-a-half decades has been spectacular in every field, as is evident by its success in aerospace, in nuclear energy, in heavy industries, in medicine, in agriculture, in urban development, in education, in culture, in cinematic arts, in sports, in women’s rights, and last but not the least in the vital sphere of defence.
A couple of days ago, the present Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, on witnessing the samples of the nation’s industrial fields in a wide variety of fields, praised the talents and devotion of the Iranian people in ensuring complete independence.
Iran, which is active today in most international organizations, such as BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Eurasian Economic Union, and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) – to name a few – achieved all these successes in the face of the most intense sanctions illegally imposed on it by the US.
As pointed out by Ayatollah Khamenei, the intensity and multiplicity of threats against Iran by its avowed enemies, actually shows the power of the Islamic system, and how it has defeated these intricate conspiracies.
Today we renew our tributes to Imam Khomeini (RA), who on his historic arrival in Tehran to a red carpet welcome by millions of people, drove straight to the Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery, which was blooming with more and more new graves every day, as the Pahlavi regime continued its killing spree on the orders of its masters in the US.
He chose the resting place of the seemingly dead to address the apparently alive all over the world where consciences had long frozen, if not become lifeless.
Every word, he spoke has been diligently recorded and is punctually aired and screened every year, and does not need to be repeated, including his emphasis on establishing the Islamic Republic system of government, his naming of the US the ‘Great Satan’, and his promise of support to the oppressed people of Palestine.
He predicted the end of communism, and it is no more. He foretold the collapse of capitalism, and it is on its last legs in the West. He prophesied the weeding out of the cancerous tumour called Israel and its death throes are evident for all despite the desperate bid of the US to prolong its survival.
As a true follower of the holy Qur’an, Imam Khomeini (RA) he pursued the path of the Prophets of God to guide the grassroots movement of the Iranian people to victory and establish the Islamic Republic.
Peace unto the soul of that Sage of the Age who transformed Iran into an invincible power that continues to shake Global Arrogance to its very foundations.
