Leader’s Aide: U.S. Forces Will Ultimately Have to Flee

TEHRAN -- A top military
adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has hailed the resistance front in the region, saying “escape” is the ultimate fate of U.S. occupation forces in Syria and Iraq, as it was the case in Afghanistan.
“The resistance of the people and governments of Iraq and Syria caused the defeat of Daesh, who are American and Zionist mercenaries, and the resistance of the Afghan people caused the defeat of the U.S. in Afghanistan and their humiliating escape. It caused the failure of the U.S. in the plans to overthrow the Syrian government,” Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said.
Rahim Safavi said what has caused the reduction of U.S. forces in Iraq and Syria are the popular resistance groups in these two countries, adding that the ultimate fate of American troops is to

flee Iraq and Syria just as they fled Afghanistan.
There are roughly 2,500 American troops in Iraq and some 900 in Syria as part of, what Washington claims to be, a fighting force against Daesh. The U.S. has maintained its presence, although, the Arab countries and their allies defeated the takfiri terrorist group in late 2017.
The high-ranking Iranian general further noted that the defeat of the Zionist regime in the 33-day and 55-day wars on the Gaza Strip and its failure following Operation al-Aqsa Storm was the result of the resistance front.
He also emphasized that the discourse of resistance in the Islamic world is the key to Muslim unity for the liberation of Al-Quds.
Anti-American sentiments have soared across the region in the weeks following all-out support of Washington for Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip where relentless Israeli strikes have killed nearly 15,000 Palestinians since October 7.
