Iranian Short Film Makes It to U.S. Festival
TEHRAN -- The short film “Lizard” written and directed by Kiarash Bokaeyan has made it to the 15th edition of the International IndieFEST Film Awards in the United States.
The closing ceremony of the Indyfest festival, whose goal is to discover and introduce independent filmmakers around the world, will be held on November 27 in California.
“Lizard” has also participated in four international festivals: Piceno Cinema in Italy, KISFF in Kenya, Cinema de Alter do Chao in Brazil, and RADIANCE International Children’s Film and Art Festival in Nigeria.
The story of the film is about a deaf teenage boy who tries to escape from his violent and tyrannical employer. Among the cast are Reza Amozad and Amirhussein Mohebbifar.
Meanwhile, the movie “Cut Off” directed and produced by Maryam Bahrul Uloomi has been selected to participate in the 21st Chennai Indian Film Festival.
The Chennai India Festival is one of the most important art events in India, which is held every year from December 14 to 21 in Chennai.
Bahrul Uloomi has written the screenplay of “Cut Off” jointly with Leila Nikzad, which tells a love story on a night when a 5-magnitude earthquake shakes Tehran.
The international distribution of the film, which was also present at the 21st Dhaka Film Festival and the 6th Turkish Women Filmmakers Festival, is handled by 7Art Films.
