‘Over 1,000 Children Martyred in 5 Wars’

Palestinian Toddler Shot by Zionist Troops Dies of Wounds

WEST BANK (Dispatches) – Two-year-old Mohammad Haytham Tamimi, who was injured on Friday by Zionist army gunfire in Nabi Saleh village, near Ramallah, and who was getting treatment since then at a hospital, died on Monday of his wounds, according to his family.
The toddler was with his father and mother in their car when a bullet fired by Zionist troops hit the boy’s head before also injuring the father in his shoulder, WAFA news agency reported.
The boy was rushed to the hospital, where he remained on life support until he was pronounced dead, while the father was taken to a hospital in Ramallah.
Tamimi’s body will be transferred to Ramallah and he will be buried on Tuesday in his village.
A total of 28 children have been killed by Zionist army gunfire since the start of the year, including seven in the Gaza Strip.
The Zionist regime has killed more than 1,000 children over five separate wars on the besieged Gaza Strip, a study by human rights groups said.
The study said that most of the children were murdered by the Zionist regime’s warplanes and U.S. products.
“Five rounds of aggressions launched by Israel on Gaza over the last 15 years, in which more than 1,000 children were killed and hundreds injured with permanent disabilities,” the study explained, adding that dozens of Palestinian children had lost their lives as a result of the 17-year-long blockade.”
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says the international community needs to intervene to end the Zionist regime’s violations against Palestinian children.
In a statement released on Sunday, Hamas said the regime denies ill children treatment, medicine and food supply by keeping the Gaza Strip blockaded.
Hamas said in the occupied West Bank, the occupying regime keeps kidnapping and jailing minors, and in cases even killing them, and placing them under house arrest or using them as human shields.
The Hamas statement was issued on the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children, Victims of Aggression. The day is a United Nations observance held on June 4 every year.
“This day comes again to remind the world of the continued human suffering, persecution and violations that the children of Palestine are exposed to as a result of the occupation state’s endless and growing aggression.”
The statement added the Zionist regime uses the worst types of psychological and physical torture against Palestinian children.
Hamas highlighted the suffering of more than 160 Palestinian children locked up in the regime’s jails. So far in 2023, Hamas said, over two dozen children have been killed in Israeli prisons.
Hamas called on human rights groups to shoulder responsibilities toward Palestinian children.
On June 1, a Palestinian rights advocacy group said in a report that Zionist regime authorities systematically deny imprisoned Palestinian children from the West Bank fair trial rights and prosecute them in military courts.
