Visual Artist Passes Away
TEHRAN – Muhammad Mehdi Harati, Iran’s prominent visual artist and a member of the country’s Academy of Arts, has passed at the age of 81.
Born and raised in Quchan in northeast of Iran, Harati moved to Tehran to obtain a doctor of philosophy degree in visual arts.
He was active in visual arts for around half a century, including in oil and pen paintings, miniature paintings on wood and ceramics, paintings with enamel colors, and old Persian calligraphy.
