Professor Saffar-Moqaddam Passes Away

TEHRAN – Iran’s acting
education minister Reza-Morad Sahraei has expressed condolences for the demise of Professor Ahmad Saffar-Moqaddam, one of the most prominent teachers of the Persian language to non-Persian speakers.
Professor Saffar-Moqaddam spent several years teaching the Persian language to non-Persian speakers. He wrote four Persian language textbooks and one book on spoken Persian.
Saffar-Moqaddam was a member of the scientific council of the Saadi Foundation as well as one of the members of the planning council for preparing educational books for non-Persian speakers.
The acting minister issued a message on Friday to express condolences to the professor’s family, students, and colleagues, describing his demise as a sad loss of a moral and precious academic.
Sahraei went on to say that the professor has turned into a part of the Iranian identity because he played an eye-catching role in the promotion of the Persian language.
