‘Gladiators’ Sweeps Awards at Italian Festival
TEHRAN -- Iranian short flick ‘Gladiators’ has bagged several awards at the 5th edition of the Aprilia Film Festival in Italy.
Written and directed by Maryam Rahimi, ‘Gladiators’ won the best screenplay and the best film editing awards at the Italian event.
The film also brought Sam Khoshnoud the best actor award at the Aprilia Film Festival.
Moreover, ‘Gladiators’ grabbed the Rotary Club Prize.
The film is about Ali, who strives to pay off a debt in order to prevent the early marriage of his sister, Narges.
The Aprilia Film Festival aims to “offer the opportunity to independent filmmakers from all over the world to present their works, making them visible to a wide audience and professionals”, an online submission platform reads.
The 5th edition of the Aprilia Film Festival took place earlier this month.
