Omani Minister Praises IKCO’s Eye-Catching Progress
TEHRAN – The Omani minister of commerce, industry and investment promotion Qais bin Muhammed Al Yousef on Sunday called the progress of Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO) in manufacturing high-quality car models “extraordinary”.
Cars manufactured by this industrial and production company can compete with foreign-made cars, Qais bin Muhammed Al Yousef stated.
Speaking in a meeting with the CEO of Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO) and deputy minister of industry for transport industries affairs in Tehran on Sunday, the Omani minister of industry praised the achievements and progress of IKCO.
Oman is interested in expanding and strengthening its trade and economic cooperation with the Islamic Republic, he further said.
Technical teams from Oman and IKCO will put the necessary evaluations in the field of joint cooperation atop agenda, he said, adding that the Omani market is lucrative and has high capacities for bilateral cooperation.
Iranian Deputy Ministry of Industry for Transportation Industries Affairs Manouchehr Manteghi said at the meeting that Iran is ready to share its experience with the Sultanate of Oman in the field of car production.
CEO of Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO) Alimardan Azimi, for his part, said that IKCO is seriously determined to expand its cooperation with Oman and announced the formation of a special working group for drawing up a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch an equipped production line for manufacturing products of the group in the Arab country.
