Registration Begins for Iran’s National Qur’an Contest

TEHRAN -- Those willing to take part in the 46th edition of Iran’s national Qur’an competition can now sign up for the prestigious event.
According to Mojtaba Jamali, an Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization official, registration for the contest started on Saturday.
Contenders can refer to the website Quraniran.ir to apply for the competition, he said.
He added that they will compete in categories like Qur’an recitation, Tarteel, memorization (at four levels), translation, Adhan (call to prayer), Nahj al-Balagha, Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh and recitation of supplications.
The registration deadline for contenders all over the country is June 5, according to Jamali.
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s National Qur’an Competition is annually held by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of top Qur’an activists from across the country.
It is aimed at discovering Qur’anic talents and promoting Qur’anic activities in society.
