Zionists Bomb Targets in Syria Near Golan Heights

BEIRUT (Dispatches) – The Zionist regime’s army early Monday shelled a position in southern Syria near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, a war monitor said, the second such bombardment in days.
The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said “Israeli ground forces” bombarded a location on the outskirts of Quneitra, without reporting any casualties.
Syrian state media did not report the bombardment, but two local media outlets close to the government reported an “Israeli aggression” that targeted the outskirts of Quneitra.
Using Lebanese or Palestinian airspace, the occupying regime frequently carries out missile attacks on targets in Syria.
The Zionist regime’s army had bombed positions in the Quneitra countryside on April 18, the Observatory said, also without reporting any casualties.
In late October, the occupying regime also launched similar attacks on Damascus, Syria’s capital, during which most of the missiles were shot down by Syrian air defenses.
In early November, Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Mekdad strongly condemned Zionist airstrikes, emphasizing that his country will definitely give a crushing response to such acts of aggression at some point in the future.
The regime frequently violates Syria’s sovereignty by targeting military positions inside the Arab country, especially those of the resistance movement Hezbollah, which has played a vital role in helping the Syrian army fight foreign-backed terrorists.
The regime mostly keeps quiet about its attacks on the Syrian territories, which many view as a knee-jerk reaction to the Syrian government’s increasing success in confronting terrorism.
The Tel Aviv regime has been a main supporter of terrorist groups that have battled the government of President Bashar al-Assad since foreign-backed militancy erupted in Syria in early 2011.
Syria has repeatedly complained to the UN over the regime’s assaults, urging the Security Council to take action against Tel Aviv’s crimes. The calls have, however, fallen on deaf ears.
