Leader: Zionist Regime’s Deterrence Diminishing

TEHRAN – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Saturday the Zionist regime is in a state of decline and has lost its power of deterrence.
“This decline, which began a few years ago, has accelerated; the Islamic world must take advantage of this great opportunity,” he told Iranian officials and ambassadors of the Islamic countries on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr here.
The Leader said Palestine is one of the most fundamental issues of the Islamic world, adding it is not only Islamic, but also a humanitarian issue.
Referring to Quds Day marches in non-Islamic countries this year, he said, “Anti-Zionist rallies in the U.S. and European countries on Quds Day are the result of the usurping Zionists’ crimes being increasingly exposed.”
Ayatollah Khamenei said the support voiced by a number of Europeans in support of the Palestinian people is very important, especially in the countries that are dependent on the Zionists.
The Leader touched on the growing resistance of the Palestinian people, saying the miserable state of the Zionist regime is owed to the sacrifices of the Palestinian youths.
“The situation in the occupied territories proves that the more the Palestinians stand up and resist in different regions, the weaker the fake regime becomes.”
Ayatollah Khamenei said the deterrent power of the Zionist regime is also waning.
“Several decades ago, [David] Ben-Gurion, one of the founders of the fake regime, said, ‘We will be destroyed whenever our deterrent power ends.’ The world is currently witnessing this reality and if nothing untoward happens, the end of the usurping regime is close.
“This is one of the blessings of the sacrifices of the devoted Palestinian youth in the West Bank and other occupied areas,” the Leader added.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the prerequisite strategy of the Islamic world should be assisting resistance forces in Palestine.
“In line with their valuable efforts, the Resistance Front and all Islamic countries should focus on strengthening the combatant elements inside Palestine.”
The Leader called the Islamic Republic as a forerunner in supporting the Palestinian cause, saying Iran will continue this support.
“We hope that the dear people of Iran would witness a day when Muslims of all Islamic countries would pray freely in the Al-Quds.”
The Leader further touched on the benefits of the holy month of Ramadan, saying it can bring the hearts of Muslims together.
Ayatollah Khamenei called on the leaders of the Islamic countries to use the occasion to strengthen Islamic unity and resolve problems, including wars, dependencies, poverty, and lack of scientific progress.
“If the Qur’anic commandment of ‘unity around the divine rope’ is followed, the Islamic world, with a population of about two billion and having the most important and sensitive geographical regions in the world, can take a step toward resolving the problems,” he said.
Earlier in the day, the Leader addressed tens of thousands of worshipers during Eid al-Fitr
prayers in Tehran, calling on the Iranian people to preserve unity, and on state officials to closely work hand in hand to resolve existing problems.
The Leader termed full cooperation among the three branches of power as an important and fundamental strategy, emphasizing that the authorities must never get in each other’s way but rather facilitate the implementation of their plans.
The Leader also urged Iranian officials not to get distracted by trivial matters, and focus mainly on how to address critical issues.
