Ministry Urges Vaccinations as Covid Cases Mount
TEHRAN -- A member of the Iranian health ministry’s Infectious Diseases Center has called for administration of booster doses amid a new wave of Covid-19 pandemic that is expected to last for at least two weeks.
Babak Eshrati said those infected should stay at home for at least five days after symptoms have disappeared in order to curb the disease.
He said students are of special concern as children normally contract less severe strains of the disease but they spread the virus faster.
Iran confirmed 634 new cases of the disease on Sunday as well as 22 deaths.
Over 145,000 people have so far lost their lives to Covid-19 in Iran since the pandemic struck the country three years ago.
