‘Alone’ Nominated for Munich Film Festival

TEHRAN -- Iranian film ‘Alone’ has been nominated at the Munich International Documentary Film Festival in Germany.
The 38th edition of the festival nominated ‘Alone’ by Jafar Najafi for the SOS-Kinderdörfer Weltweit Award.
The film was premiered at the Venice International Film Festival.
The film narrates the story of a 14-year-old teenage boy who faces challenges between modern and traditional life.
According to the official website of the event, the Munich International Documentary Film Festival holds yearly and accepts and screens over 150 works. The selected pieces show people from different walks of life.
This year’s edition of the event is scheduled for May 3-13, 2023.
Meanwhile, Iranian short animation ‘Before Heaven’ made its way to the Dieciminuti Film Festival in Italy.
‘Before Heaven’, produced by Soureh Film Club, competed at the 18th edition of the Italian event.
Directed by Ahmad Heydarian, the animated film is about the Palestinian cause.
“Children’s paintings are on the wall and the new resident of the house has decided to paint all of the walls,” a synopsis for the film reads.
The film has won several awards at various festivals, including the Resistance International Film Festival in Iran.
Founded in 2005, the Dieciminuti Film Festival is one of the most important events dedicated to short films in Italy.
The 18th edition of the event kicked off on March 27 and ran until April 1.
