Malmo Festival to Screen ‘Between the Cliffs’
TEHRAN -- Iranian feature film ‘Between the Cliffs’ has found its way to the BUFF Malmö Film Festival in Sweden.
Written and directed by Mokhtar Abdollahi, the film will be on screen at the Panorama Children’s Film section of the Swedish event’s 40th edition.
‘Between the Cliffs’ is the story of Ebrahim and his little sister Ilma, who tend their cattle in the mountains when their parents go to town on an errand. In a rock crevice, honeybees buzz and Ebrahim climbs for their nest. Easier said than done – with an injured foot, Ebrahim gets stuck on a ledge. Now it’s up to Ilma to manage on her own.
Andia Yahyapour, Maryam Alahmad and Esmaeil Moradi comprise the cast members of the flick.
The film is produced by the Documentary and experimental Film Center in Iran.
Established in 1984, the BUFF Malmö Film Festival is an annual recurring international children’s and youth film festival that takes place in Malmö for one week in March.
This year’s edition of the BUFF is slated for March 11- 17.
