Fajr Festival Hosts Ensemble From St. Petersburg
TEHRAN -- The 38th Fajr Music Festival has hosted VivaMuse Ensemble from St. Petersburg.
The Russian troupe performed at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall during the festival, iFilm reported.
In the first part of its concert, the ensemble featuring Evgeniya Klevtsova and Nataliya Grinuk on violin, Alexei Andreev on viola, Natalia Neskoromnaya on cello and Ilya Chirskov on piano.
The group gave a performance of Italian composer Arcangelo Corelli’s Concerto Grosso.
In a press release published on Wednesday by the Fajr Music Festival, pianist Chirskov expressed satisfaction with VivaMuse’s performance.
“The audience was really great and they seemed to like the performance,” he said
He said that European classical music appeals to almost everybody in the world and added that the pieces were selected for the concert based on this fact.
VivaMuse performs a wide range of musical styles ranging from baroque music to works from contemporary composers.
The ensemble grabbed the laureate title of the 2020 All-Russian Internet competition “Musical Talents of Russia”.
In Moscow, the head of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Communication Organization called for cultural cooperation between Iran and Russia at regional and international levels.
Hojjatoleslam Muhammad Mehdi Imanipour met with Eleonora Primakov, head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs.
The meeting was also attended by Kazem Jalali, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Russia and Masoud Ahmadvand, the cultural attaché of Iran.
The Iranian government attaches importance to development of relations with neighboring countries, Imanipour said, expressing satisfaction that relations between Iran and Russia are at the highest level.
He also announced Iran’s interest in developing cultural, scientific and artistic cooperation with Russia.
