Bestseller Children’s Book Translated Into Persian

TEHRAN (IBNA) -- A
juvenile fiction book, ‘Lubna and Pebble’ (2019) by British writer, illustrator and academic Wendy Meddour, a timely story of displacement has been published in Persian and is available to Iranian children.
A New York Public Library Best Books for Kids, illustrated by Daniel Egnéus, this work has been translated into Persian by Pegah Sharifi. Soroush Publishing has released ‘Lubna and Pebble’ in 32 pages.
In an unforgettable story that subtly addresses the refugee crisis, a young girl must decide if friendship means giving up the one item that gives her comfort during a time of utter uncertainty.

Wendy Meddour is a writer, illustrator and academic. Her debut children’s novel A Hen in the Wardrobe was published by Frances Lincoln Publishers in 2012. The book was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award and was named one of the ‘Best 50 Culturally Diverse Books since the 1950s’ by The Guardian.
