Political Science Book Available for Persian Readers

TEHRAN (IBNA) -- Political science book, ‘Russia’s Return to the Middle East: Building Sandcastles?’ (2018) edited by Nicu Popescu and Stanislav Secrieru has been translated into Persian and published.
This work has been translated into Persian by Mohammad-Hossein Fazel Zarandi. Sales Publishing in Tehran has released ‘Russia’s Return to the Middle East’ in 190 pages.
The other contributors of this book are: Julien Barnes-Dacey, Dimitar Bechev, Timofey Borisov, Dmitriy Frolovskiy, Florence Gaub, Dalia Ghanem-Yazbeck, Mark N. Katz, Vasilij Kucnecov, Anton Lavrov, Carole Nakhle and Dmitrij Vitalʹevič Trenin.
Russia’s political, diplomatic, military and economic footprint in the Middle East and North Africa has expanded visibly over the last decade. This Chaillot Paper provides a detailed account of Russia’s spectacular return to the region.
The paper depicts how major regional players have adjusted to the new reality but also addresses the question of whether Russia will be able to sustain its geopolitical ambitions in the Middle East.
Nicu Popescu was a senior asalyst at the EU Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) between July 2013 and June 2018. He specialized in Russia and the EU’s eastern neighbors.
Stanislav Secrieru joined the EUISS as a senior asalyst in 2018, where he covers Russia and the EU’s eastern neighborhood. He holds a Ph.D. from the National School of Political Science and Public Administration in Bucharest.
