Jordan Protests to Zionists After Envoy Blocked From Al-Aqsa
AL-QUDS (Dispatches) – Jordan summoned the Zionist regime’s ambassador to Amman on Tuesday to protest a move by the occupying regime’s police to block the Jordanian envoy from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds. The incident quickly escalated tensions between the two sides and reflected the heightened sensitivity around the sacred compound under the Zionist regime’s new ultra-extremist cabinet. Jordan’s Foreign Ministry said its ambassador to the occupied territories, Ghassan Majali, was blocked from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Al-Quds’ Old City, the third-holiest site in Islam.
The sacred compound is administered by Jordanian religious authorities as part of an unofficial agreement.
