Iranian Cineastes Join Jury Panel at Dhaka Festival
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Two Iranian
cineastes have been named jury members of the 21st Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) in Bangladesh.
Iran’s prominent filmmaker Pouran Derakhshandeh was selected to serve on jury of the festival’s Asian Films Competition section.
Derakhshandeh was the first female filmmaker following Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution. She made her directorial debut with ‘The Relationship’ in 1986.
Derakhshandeh’s films, including ‘Little Bird of Happiness’, were awarded at several international film festivals.
Meanwhile, Elaheh Tahaei was selected as member of the Interfaith Jury for the Spiritual Films Section of the Bangladeshi festival.
She is the International Business and Marketing manager at Soureh Cinema Organization in Iran.
The 21st edition of DIFF will be held on January 14-22.
