Researcher: Zionists Accelerate Underground Digging Around Al-Aqsa
AL-QUDS (Dispatches) – The Zionist regime’s authorities has accelerated its underground digging activities around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, particularly on its southern and south-western sides, Al-Quds affairs researcher, Fakhri Abu Diyab, has revealed to the Palestinian Information Centre.
SAFA news agency, quoted Abu Diyab, as saying that suspicious digging continues to take place noticeably and at an accelerating pace around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which threatens the mosque’s foundations, walls and ancient buildings.
The researcher affirmed that workers with construction and digging equipment can be easily seen in the targeted areas, working particularly on emptying mounds of dirt and debris from the sites.
“The areas being targeted by excavations and Judaization activities include the Umayyad Palaces, the Maghariba Gate, al-Buraq Wall, the southern wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, and the northern entrance of Silwan,” he said.
“These excavations have intensified since the beginning of the current year. We have never seen digging of such intensity and speed around the Al-Aqsa Mosque before,” Abu Diyab added.
“As if the occupation authorities are planning to carry out a pre-planned and dangerous action against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and perhaps to bring about fundamental changes in the area or prepare it for a Judaization scheme,” he warned.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Ekrema Sabri on Friday warned Muslims around the world about the dangers surrounding Al-Aqsa Mosque amidst repeated raids supported by the Zionist regime, Al-Watan Voice reported.
“Pre-planned Judaization schemes are being implemented step by step and stage by stage,” Sheikh Sabri asserted during Friday khutba, calling for Muslims around the world to recognize these dangers.
Sheikh Sabri reiterated that the Palestinian people: “Will never give up any particle of the soil of Al-Aqsa Mosque because it is part of our religion and faith, and it is the common connection among two billion Muslims around the world.”
He condemned the Zionist attacks on cemeteries in Palestine, mainly in Al-Quds.
