Is Arabia Headed Towards an Explosive Situation?
By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer
The situation in the Arabian Peninsula may turn explosive anytime given the intransigence of the invaders of Yemen and the instigation of their weapons suppliers to feel sadistic pleasure in the shedding of more Muslim blood and further destruction of the Arab lands.
In spite of the efforts of well-wishers for peace, the warmongers want the conflict to continue as is evident by the indiscriminate bombing of civilian centres in the northern parts of Yemen by Saudi Arabia and the illegal hold of the UAE on the south where ports and islands are under control of the Zionists.
At the same time, the Americans and their accomplices are plundering oil from the southern terminals as the Yemeni people watch the deteriorating conditions, half in helplessness and half in horror.
This has prompted the national government in Sana’a led by the popular Ansarullah movement to warn the aggressors of retaliation that would plunge the whole region in a crisis that could easily spiral out of control.
The government points out that the Saudi-led invaders have exploited the UN-sponsored truce to tighten the brutal blockade that has seen shortage of basic items, including food, fuel, and medicine, because of the seizure of ships headed to the ports, especially of Hodeida.
The Ansarullah says it will not allow the status quo to persist, and will inevitably launch retaliatory missile strikes against the Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
It described the famine and siege as criminal and cruel strategies of the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen, arguing that the practice amounts to mass murder under the United Nations Charter and principles.
The statement said: “Siege is same as a war, whose primary purpose is to kill as many Yemenis as possible and destroy people’s livelihood. The crippling sea, land and air blockade on Yemen has created a humanitarian disaster in the country.”
Meanwhile, the regular Yemeni army and combatants of the allied Popular Committees who have had victories to their credit in the battles imposed by the Saudi-led coalition forces and their Takfiri mercenaries, is highly confident of inflicting telling blows on the aggressors.
The government statement made it clear that the Yemeni armed forces are prepared to confront the plots of the US and Israel against the country’s resources, islands and waterways.
In view of these facts, if saner heads fail to prevail, the war would be heading for a destructive phase that will be highly detrimental to the regimes in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which heavily depend on large expatriate populations for their supposed development.
In other words, those living in houses of glass should not throw stones at others, particularly at adversaries having the power to shatter into pieces these fragile structures.
