Tehran Holds International Document Restoration Workshops
TEHRAN (IBNA) -- The
National Library and Archives Organization of Iran has launched 23 international workshops to teach and publish the knowledge about restoration, protection and preservation of documents.
Titled, “Pathology and Restoration of Paper Works”, the training course is aimed at students working on documents, experts of museums and archival centers. It’s the second training workshop.
It is the second training workshop held recently by the General Administration for Restoration and Conservation of the National Library and Archives Organization of Iran in Tehran.
The chapters of this training course include making students familiar with environmental and resource decontamination methods and making them acquainted with damaging factors and protection and maintenance standards.
They also learn to identify biological degradation agents, chemical decontamination, physical decontamination methods and restoration. Paper works, methods of sewing components, restoration of damaged covers, making covers and protective boxes, which are taught by experienced experts of the General Department of Restoration and Protection of the National Library of Iran.
The training workshop “Pathology and Restoration of Paper Works” will be held for 30 hours within 9 weeks on Mondays and will run by January 30.
