TEHRAN (IP/Press TV) – The honoring ceremony of the winners of the second “Soleimani Badge” memorial was held on Monday in the presence of Mohammad Eslami, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Bakshizadeh, the Deputy for the Radio at the IRIB.
In this ceremony, Ali Bakshizadeh referred to the secret behind the fame of Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, saying: “Haj Qassem’s sincere action made him endeared at hearts. Even Christians and Izadis respect the martyr and commemorate him.”
Mohammad Eslami also addressed the audience, saying General Soleimani believed in God and his people.
Ceremonies were held in many countries, including El Salvador and Afghanistan, to honor the top anti-terror commander.
People gathered in Palestine Square in the Central American country’s capital, San Salvador, on Tuesday to pay homage to General Soleimani, who was assassinated by the United States in 2020.
They carried the flags of Palestine and Iran and also the photos of the late Iranian commander. The participants also burnt the flags of the Zionist regime.
Meanwhile, the second literary conference on Lieutenant-General Soleimani’s martyrdom anniversary codenamed “Soleimani Jewel” was held in the presence of poets, writers, and cultural figures of Afghanistan.
Gholamreza Najari, the deputy of the Iranian embassy in Afghanistan said Lt. Gen. Soleimani was a supporter of the world’s oppressed people, adding that the destruction of Daesh terrorists in the region was due to Soleimani’s bravery.
Najari called Martyr Soleimani the reason for the peace of the Islamic world and added that helping the nations of Palestine, Syria, and Iraq shines in the record of the martyr.
The political deputy of the Iranian embassy in Afghanistan branded the assassination of Lt. Gen. Soleimani by the United States an example of state terrorism and said that Soleimani’s life was a unifier for Islamic countries and his martyrdom is a consensus maker.
General Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and his Iraqi trenchmate Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), were martyred along with their companions in a US drone strike on January 3, 2020.
The strike near Baghdad International Airport was authorized by then-U.S. president Donald Trump. Days after his martyrdom, the anti-terror icon’s body was transferred to Iran and was laid to rest in his hometown of Kerman.
The two noted anti-terror commanders were tremendously respected and admired across the region for their instrumental role in fighting and decimating the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.
