Iran’s Participation at Dushanbe Book Fair Big Success

TEHRAN (IBNA) -- The 10th Dushanbe International Book Fair was held in Tajikistan capital from ‎December 14 to 16 with the representatives of Iran, India, Belarus, Turkey, ‎Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan in attendance. ‎
Also, the private and governmental publishers of Tajikistan participated in the event which took place at Sadruddin Eini Hall in Dushanbe.
Iran Book and Literature House as well as Behnasher (Astan Quds Razavi Publishing House) represented Iranian publishers with 76 titles of its works and 70 titles of works of 12 Iranian publishers (250 books in total) were present in the fair at a stand with an area of 9 meters.
The stand of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which emerged in this fair after a few years of hiatus, was welcomed by the audience as half of the books offered in this stand were sold in the early hours of the opening day, and most of the books were sold by the end of the day.
During the three-day exhibition, Iran’s stand hosted many Tajik thinkers, writers, poets, literary critics, publishers, students, and governmental officials of Tajikistan including Zulfiya Davlatzoda, Tajikistan’s Minister of Culture among others.
Among the best-selling books of Iran’s stand at the fair, we c an refer to ‘Shahnameh’, ‘Divan of Rudaki’ Our Story Turned into a Proverb, Kuliat of Nizami Ganjavi’, ‘Arbaeen Jami’ and ‘Selected Poems of Bidel’.
On the sidelines of the fair, a plaque of honor was awarded to the stand of Behnashr Publishing House. Moreover, discussions were held with prominent translators and editors of Tajikistan to select and translate Persian works into Cyrillic language.
Agreements were also signed with some prominent publishers of Tajikistan and private sector investors of that country on the publication and distribution of Persian and Cyrillic works in Tajikistan.
Conferences and seminars were also held within the framework of the 10th Dushanbe International Book Fair.
