TEHRAN – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani has expressed his sympathy with the people of Afghanistan over a deadly accident in the Salang Tunnel.
Kanaani also extended his condolences to the families of the victims of the accident that took place on Saturday.
At least a dozen people were killed when a fuel tanker caught fire in the Salang Tunnel that connects Afghanistan’s capital Kabul to the north of the country.
The cause of the incident remains unknown. Many more got injured.
