Four Palestinians Martyred by Zionist Troops
WEST BANK (Dispatches) –
Zionist regime troops killed a Palestinian teenager on Thursday evening, just hours after the troops killed three Palestinians during an early morning raid in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin.
The martyred Palestinian was recognized as 17-year-old Diaa Muhammad Shafiq al-Rimawi.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement that Zionist troops opened fire on several young Palestinians near Ramallah, which serves as Palestine’s administrative capital.
The statement added that two other Palestinians were wounded and hospitalized.
The three other Palestinians killed were identified as Atta Shalabi, 46, Sidqi Zakarneh, 29, and Tariq Damej, 29.
Following the latest deaths, the number of Palestinians killed since the beginning of this year has risen to 217, including 52 in the Gaza Strip, and 165 in the West Bank, making it one of the deadliest years on record for Palestinians since 2005.
Zionist regime authorities have recently been conducting raid-and-arrest operations across the West Bank on a near-nightly basis, often leading to the wounding or killing of Palestinians.
The operations have resulted in more 2,500 arrests, according to regime authorities.
Many of the deadly clashes have occurred in the Jenin and Nablus area, where Zionist troops have repeatedly conducted operations.
Thursday’s deaths come amid a spike in the occupying regime’s violence against Palestinians in the West Bank this year and a resurgence of Palestinian armed resistance.
The regime’s “shoot-to-kill policy” has been widely criticized as the number of Palestinian deaths at the hands of its forces increases.
Palestinian resistance groups have condemned the latest killings of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, stating that such crimes will fail to discourage the Palestinian nation from continuing to tread the path of resistance against the regime’s enemy.
The Gaza-based Hamas movement said the killings will further invigorate steadfastness against the occupying regime.
It praised members of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades -- the military wing of Hamas -- for their courageous and armed resistance against Zionist troops, stating that the latest deaths clearly exhibit the extent of organized terrorism being exercised by the regime, its brutal nature, and its desperate attempts to assert control over the West Bank.
