Rights Groups, Arab League Slam Zionist Aggression

CAIRO (Dispatches) – Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit on Wednesday condemned the escalations practiced by Zionist troops in the West Bank.
Aboul-Gheit warned against “targeting and murdering the Palestinians in cold blood,” and called on the international community “to interfere to protect the civilians,” the AL said in a statement.
The rate of violence has been on the rise since the beginning of 2022 which promotes an explosion in accidents, the statement said, noting that depriving the Palestinians of their political rights jeopardizes their security and will harm all sides.
On Tuesday, five Palestinians were killed in clashes with Zionist troops in four separate incidents in the West Bank.
Tens of thousands of Palestinians marched through the villages of Kafr Ein and Beit Rima, northwest of Ramallah, on Tuesday carrying two caskets draped in bright Palestinian flags and covered in flowers.
Inside the caskets were the bodies of Jawad Rimawi, 22, and Thafer Rimawi, 21, two brothers from the town of Beit Rima.
Their bodies were carried on the shoulders of family and friends while the crowds chanted well-wishes and prayers for paradise for the new “martyrs”, who were shot dead early on Tuesday morning during an Israeli raid.
On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, local and international organizations called on the world community to step up its efforts to end Zionist apartheid and allow Palestinians to return back to their ancient homes.
In a statement marking the occasion, the Palestinian Return Center (PRC) said that the annual commemoration comes amid alarming heightened Zionist aggression against Palestinians.
The center said, “Escalating Israeli crimes include mass collective punishment, mass demolitions, ethnic cleansing, settler attacks, and ongoing campaigns to criminalize any form of solidarity with Palestine must come to an end.”
Meanwhile, Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association said 96 local, regional and international organizations supporting Palestinian political prisoners are calling for an end to the Zionist apartheid’s arbitrary policies and rapid use of the policy of detention without charge or trial.
In turn, Hamas, the Palestinian resistance movement, said Palestinians are standing steadfast in face of Zionist occupation and violence, and the free people of the world’s support for and solidarity with Palestine is on the rise.
Several non-Palestinian organizations also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people on the occasion, which they described as an opportunity to reiterate support for the people of Palestine in their struggle for freedom and dignity.
For its part, the BDS movement said on the 44th anniversary of this day that “Israel controls every facet of Palestinian life through a brutally oppressive regime of settler-colonialism and apartheid which exercises a single system of domination over all Indigenous Palestinians.”
