TEHRAN – The spokesman for the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade Omid Qalibaf said on Sunday that Iran’s exports to Qatar have seen 30% growth in one month compared with the same period last year.
Qalibaf said that Iran-Qatar trade is progressive, adding that exports of products like steel, glass, shrimp, fish, tomato, white cement, confectionary, and chocolate have experienced 100% growth in the first seven months of the Iranian calendar.
Based on the agreement, the two countries will increase the volume of trade from $200mn to $3bn, he added.
He referred to the dispatch of a new commercial advisor to Doha, establishing a trade center in Qatar, holding an exclusive exhibition and an agreement on the financial settlement mechanism as the most important structural measures in line with developing trade ties between Iran and Qatar.
Qalibaf pointed to Iran’s recent exhibition in Qatar, saying that the two countries agreed to export 250 tons of food to Qatar.
