National Heritage Village Still Tourists Attraction

TEHRAN (IP) -- The village of Qalat is located 36 kilometers northwest of Shiraz, the capital of Fars province in south of Iran.
The village is about two thousand and 65 meters above sea level and was registered in the country’s national heritage in 2019.
Shiraz’s Qalat dated back to more than a thousand years ago and was known as Kalat in the past; Kalat means a castle or a place built on a high mountain.
Qalat is a village with stepped architecture, and in the historical past, it was one of the residences of Iranian kings in summer; for this, a large castle was built in the area. Although the historical castle of Qalat village has been destroyed, it is still a sight to see. It was built during the Persian Atabakan period and was reconstructed during the Seljuk period to keep the region safe.
In addition to the beautiful nature of Qalat tourist village, there is also a historical museum in the area.
This beautiful and scenic area is one of the most important tourist destinations of Shiraz, Fars province.
