Documentary ‘Silent House’ Nominated for Amsterdam Festival

TEHRAN (IMNA) - The documentary film ‘Silent House’ co-directed by Farnaz Jurabchian and Mohammadreza Jurabchian is a joint production of Iran, France, Canada, Qatar, and the Philippines. In its world premiere in the International competition category of the 35th International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam ( IDFA), this film has been nominated for the best documentary award, vying for the prize along with 12 documentaries from a variety of other countries.
The IDFA president commented on ‘Silent House’ in a press conference, “From Iran, Farnaz Jurabchian and Mohammadreza Jurbchina take us to their family house. An extremely mature film, a saga in a way, a 100-year-old house in Tehran, Iran, a house of the upper-middle-class, a family that lived three generations there. The story of those who lived in the house is a mirror of the history of Iran since before the 1979 revolution until today; a journey that is deeply political and that takes us to a part or an aspect of Iran today that is I think very enlightening, because we rarely see that and our image of Iran comes usually from more stereotyped sources. So, this is a film not to miss and we believe will be seen everywhere around the world because it is very well-made.”
