Germany’s Scholz Pushes for Sanctions on Iran
FRANKFURT (Dispatches) -- German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Saturday that he favors a new round of European Union sanctions on Iran next week.
“We want to continue to step up the pressure on the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and the political leadership,” he said in a video posted on Twitter. A European diplomat, speaking to AFP on condition of anonymity, said that about 30 people were set to be sanctioned by the bloc.
