Iran, ‎Turkey Hold Int’l Conference on Oriental Manuscripts

TEHRAN (IBNA) -- The
International Conference on Oriental Manuscripts will be held in Iran and ‎Turkey next May with books which will be unveiled on the first day of the event.‎
Speaking to IBNA, Secretary of the International Conference on Oriental Manuscripts Sadegh Hosseini Eshkevari gave information about this event: “The conference was already held under the title, International Conference of Iran and India Common Cultural Heritage in 2013 and International Conference of Iran and Iraq Common Cultural Heritage in 2014 which led to the publication of over 150 books.
Referring to the countries where the conference will be held, he said: The International Conference on Oriental Manuscripts will take place in Turkey, the cities of Qom and Tehran of Iran in May 2023. A pre-conference was also held earlier in the Grand Mosque library, which focused on the subject of seals.
Among the topics of the conference are:
Providing detailed introduction on valuable manuscripts in the libraries of the Asian continent (on various subjects)
Cataloging those manuscripts in personal libraries, museums and libraries of the world related to the Orient
Making comparisons between Islamic manuscripts and those of other religions
New methods of protection and restoration of oriental manuscripts
New ways of cataloging oriental manuscripts
Writing reviews on amended books and indexes published about oriental studies
