TEHRAN – Iran have defeated Thailand 15-3 at the 2022 Asian Water Polo Championship.
Iran, headed by Aleksandar Ciric, had previously defeated India, South Korea and Kazakhstan in Group A.
Group A winner Iran will play Group B’s fourth team on Saturday.
The competition started in Bangkok, Thailand on November 7 and will run until November 13.
The Asian Water Polo Championship serves as qualification for the 2023 World Water Polo Championship to be held in Fukuoka, Japan.
The top two teams as well as host Japan will participate in the world championship.
