TEHRAN – Iran defeated Kazakhstan 11-10 at the 2022 Asian Water Polo Championship on Thursday.
Iran, headed by Aleksandar Ciric, had previously defeated India and South Korea in Group A.
Group B consists of Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuwait.
The competition started in Bangkok, Thailand on November 7 and will run until November 13.
The Asian Water Polo Championship serves as qualification for the 2023 World Water Polo Championship to be held in Fukuoka, Japan.
The top two teams as well as host Japan will participate in the world championship.
