Scholars Invited to Iran’s Cultural Heritage in Caucasus Conference

TEHRAN (IBNA)-- The International Conference on Iran’s Cultural Heritage in the Caucasus will be ‎held by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Embassy in Armenia in cooperation with two ‎Armenian institutes on March 29-30, 2023. ‎
The cooperating Armenian entities are the Institute of Oriental Studies at Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University and the Mesrop Mashtots Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts (Matenadaran).
The conference is aimed to embrace a wide range of historical, literary and cultural studies as well as various aspects of the Iranian cultural heritage in the Caucasus region countries.
Topics of the conference articles are but not limited to:
Historical, cultural and literary relations between Iran and the Caucasus
Historical and artistic works and Iranian monuments (mosques, fortresses and surviving works of Iranian architecture) in the Caucasus
Persian inscriptions, tablets and memorials in the Caucasus
Iranian races in the Caucasus region (Ases, Tats, Taleshians)
Comparative study of Iranian languages and common languages in the Caucasus (Armenian, Georgian, Turkish dialects, etc.)
Ancient Ganja as the center of Iranian culture and literature in South Caucasus
Persian language in South Caucasus
Nezami Ganjavi and Khaqani Shervani and their era
Iranian intellectuals in old Tbilisi
Habish Teflisi and his works
Comparative studies in the fields of mythology, literature and popular culture
The role of translation in strengthening cultural ties between Iran and the Caucasus
Submitted articles must be presented in English, Russian, Persian or Armenian languages. The selected articles from this conference will be published.
