Greco-Roman Wrestlers Leave for Baku

Greco-Roman wrestling team has left Tehran for Azerbaijan’s capital Baku to compete in the Greco-Roman World Cup.
The Greco-Roman World Cup, which will kick off on November 6 in Baku, will be held ahead of the Paris Olympics.
The Iranian wrestling team consists of Pouya Dadmarz and Mehdi Javaheri at 55kg, Mehdi Mohsennejad and Pouya Naserpur at 60kg, Iman Muhammadi and Said Esmaili at 63kg, Danial Sohrabi and Hojjat Rezaei at 67kg, Amir Abdi and Muhammadreza Rostami at 72kg, Muhammadreza Mokhtari and Aref Habibollahi at 77kg, Alireza Muhmadi and Muhammad-Hussein Mahmoudi at 82kg, Abolfazl Choubani and Hamidreza Badkan at 87kg, Mehdi Bali and Muhammad Nosrati at 97kg, and Ali-Akbar Yousefi and Fardin Hedayati at 130kg.
Hassan Rangraz, a renowned Iranian wrestler, will supervise the national team along with Hassan Husseinzadeh, Taleb Ne’matpur, Farzad Imanalizadeh and Saber Mirzadeh in the event.
The two-day competition will see the top five from the recently-finished Wrestling World Championships, being separated into two groups in the Azerbaijani capital.
Group A includes Turkey, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Serbia.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is scheduled to start its contest in Baku against Turkey in the morning session of day one before taking on Kyrgyzstan later in the afternoon.
