Iran, Tajikistan Enter New Phase of Cultural Relations

TEHRAN (IBNA) -- At a meeting with his Tajik counterpart, Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaili said: “The common cultural and lingual identity of the two countries provides the ground for boosting ties between them.
The meeting was held at Tajikistan National Library in Dushanbe where Esmaili referred to the reciprocal visits of Iran and Tajikistan presidents to the two countries and pointed out: “Fortunately, we are in a new phase of cultural relations.”
Referring to the cooperation of the two countries in various fields, Esmaili stressed: “both parties are showing a will to expand relations to higher levels.”
“Earlier last month we hosted Tajik artists and culture Minister in Tehran, Tabriz and Shiraz and here, Iran’s Culture week in Tajikistan opens today.”
Esmaili gave news about The books of Tajik poets whose works have been published in Iran and expressed the readiness of Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to cooperate in varios fields of cinema, theater, music, visual arts and books with Tajikistan.
Referring to a special program scheduled to be held during Norouz (New Iranian Year) as a cultural heritage, he invited the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan Zulfia Dolatzadeh to attend the program.
Dolatzadeh for her part pointed to the appropriate cultural ties between Iran and Tajikistan and hoped that such meetings will pave the way for more cultural and artistic interactions between the two countries.
Earlier, last month the Iranian cities of Tehran, Tabriz, and Shiraz hosted Tajikistan’s cultural week on October 1 to 8 and now Some 51 Iranian artists in varrious fields have put their works on display in Iran’s Culture Week in Tajikistan.
