TEHRAN -- Iran on Monday congratulated Brazil’s president-elect Inacio Lula da Silva on his election win, calling for further expansion of relations between the two countries.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran hopes that age-old relations between the two countries, which are characterized with goodwill and mutual respect, would expand more than before under management of the president-elect,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said on Monday.
