Wrestlers Power Into Freestyle Finals at World Championships in Spain

TEHRAN – Iranian athletes Amir Muhammad Yazdani and Amir Ali Azarpira, in 70 and 97 kilogram weights of the 2022 Spain World Senior Freestyle Championship advanced to the final and Kian Mahmmoudjanlu in 65 kilogram weight will compete for bronze.
In the preliminary round of the U-23 (hopes) in Pontevedra, Spain, the first five weights of the freestyle competitions were held.
In 57 kilogram weight Ahmad Mohammadnezhad won the first match versus Manuel Khandzersian from Armenia 5-4, but lost the next match to Germany’s athlete 9-4 and left the competitions.
In 65 kilogram weight Kian Mahmmoudjanlu lost his first match versus Hamze Alaja from Turkey and since he is a finalist, wen to the losers group.
In that group Mahmmoudjanlu will wrestle with Sayyid Eslam Husseini from Finland, and if he wins, he will face a competitor from Porto Rico.
Wining the Porto Rican champion will give him a chance for winning the bronze medal in his last match versus Eric Arushanian from Ukraine. In 77Kg weight Amir Mohammad Yazdani gained a rest lost in the first match and beat the Asian champion Talgat Sirbaz 15-5 to reach the quarter final.
In the quarter final he beat Kuta Katahashi from Japan 17-7 and then he beat Yahya Thomas from the United Stated 2-2 to reach the final, where he will face Georgi Albakitze the EU U-23 champion.
In 97Kg weight Amir-Ali Azarpira beat his Ukrainian competitor Vasil Suva 21-2 to reach the quarter final. There he beat Richard Vaq from Hungary 10-nil to reach the semifinal. Azarpira also won the semifinal 8-0 versus Er-Toqrol Alja from Germany to reach the final where he will face Tanner Usolon from the United States.
