Iranian Greco-Roman Wrestlers Win U-23 World Championships
TEHRAN – Iran claimed the title of the U-23 World Greco-Roman Championships in Spain.
Iran won the team title with 138 points, 37 points more than second-placed Georgia.
Turkey jumped over Azerbaijan to finish third with 93 points.
Danial Sohrabi won the third gold medal of Iran by winning the 67kg weight class.
Iran’s Pouya Dadmarz at 55kg and Iman Muhammadi at 63kg had previously won two gold medals.
Ali Akbar Yousefi at 130kg, Amir Abdi at 72kg and Ali Abedi at 97kg also won three bronze medals.
The competition was held in Pontevedra, Spain.

In a message on Thursday, President Ebrahim Raisi offered his congratulations to the Iranian nation on the winning of the the U23 World Championships by Iranian U23 Greco-Roman wrestling team.
“This win, which was achieved through the efforts of Iran’s talented youth in the glorious wrestling sport, showed the ability and resolve of our beloved youth,” Raisi said.
