UK Ambassador Summoned for Third Time
TEHRAN -- The Iranian Foreign Ministry has, for the third time in past months, summoned the British ambassador in Tehran, Simon Shercliff, over the UK’s interference in Iran’s internal affairs and London’s new sanctions against Tehran. During the meeting, the director general of Western Europe at Iran’s Foreign Ministry conveyed the Islamic Republic’s vehement protest at Britain’s interference in the country’s internal affairs to the British envoy. He said Tehran considers the “arbitrary sanctions” imposed by London and their fundamental premises as unacceptable and worthless.
