President: Enemies’ Dreams Will Never Come True

TEHRAN -- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said Saturday the enemy is seeking to realize its dreams by instigating riots in universities and academic institutions, but their plots will fall flat with the vigilance of students and academic lecturers.
Raisi made the remark at Tehran’s Alzahra University in a celebration to commemorate the beginning of the academic year.
Iran witnessed days of riots over the death of 22-year-old Iranian woman Mahsa Amini who collapsed in a police station in the capital and lost her life despite intensive medical care and resuscitation efforts.
“The enemy thought that it could pursue its desires in universities, unaware that our students and professors are vigilant and will not allow the false dreams to come true,” President Raisi said.
Iranians, he added, “will certainly defeat the enemy in the field of science and knowledge as well as in other fields”.
What started as peaceful protests took a violent turn after unruly protesters fatally attacked policemen and indulged in vandalism against public property in several cities.
