The Reasons of US Enmity Toward Iran
By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer
What is the reason of the intense enmity of US policymakers towards Iran and the Iranian people?
The answer is simple. It is the establishment of the Islamic Republic system of government, and the support of the Iranian masses for the independence, dignity, and development of their country – the same factors that had alarmed Washington in 1953 and made it overthrow nationalist Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddeq to re-impose the detested rule of the British client Pahlavi regime.
Why are the US regimes, whether Democrat or Republican, terrified of the power, prestige, and positive influence of Iran on the people and grassroots movements of the region and beyond?
The answer is crystal clear. An ideologically invincible, politically powerful, scientifically superb, technologically top-grade, and industrially indestructible Iran, enjoying an energetic economy, military might, and creative culture, will certainly end American hegemony in the region – if not the whole world.
Times have changed since the immediate post World War 2 years when a coup ended democracy in Iran in 1953.
The grassroots movement in Iran during 1978-79 showed the inability of the US to turn back the tide of the Islamic Revolution, which was led by a Man of God, who meant what he said, and kicked out for good some 50,000 American soldiers.
Thereafter, Imam Khomeini’s (RA) leadership not just miraculously saved Iran from such plots as Operation Eagle Claw that foundered in the sands of Tabas, but from the war which Washington imposed through Saddam of the repressive Ba’th minority regime of Baghdad that dragged on for 8 years and failed to overthrow the system of government.
Thus, the intellectually bankrupt setup in the US in a bid to slow down Islamic Iran’s pace towards the pinnacles of progress resorted to the unmanly policy of economic-industrial terrorism through a series of sanctions in violation of the UN charter and international laws.
And this explains the layers upon layers of sanctions whose growth under the slightest pretext over the past forty years is indicative of their utter failure as well as American reluctance to negotiate any treaty with the Islamic Republic despite endless rounds of talks (indirectly) over the past few decades.
Today, the Yankees have reached the end of the road and there is no way they can deceive the world regarding Iran or prevent it from its right of achieving self-sufficiency in all fields, let alone stop its growing influence in the neighbourhood coupled with the fast approaching end of the illegal Zionist entity.
Whether the US and its client regimes like it or not, the Islamic Republic is resolved to continue its humanitarian policies to help all freedom-loving nations to materialize their goal of ending American hegemony and unbridled Zionist terrorism.
