TEHRAN – The spokesman of the Cycling Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Vafaei said on Sunday that 12 foreign and three Iranian cycling teams will take part in the 35th Tour of Iranian Azerbaijan.
Vafaei said that the 35th Tour of Iranian Azarbaijan will be held from September 29 to October 3 this year.
Vafaei added that the first stage of this competition will be from Tabriz and to Urmia, the second from Tabriz to Aras Free Zone, and the third from Jolfa to Kalibar.
He said that in the fourth stage of this tour, cyclists will compete from Tabriz to Sareyn (capital of Sareyn County, in Ardebil Province, Iran) and in the final phase, they will ride from Sareyn to Tabriz.
Tour of Iranian Azarbaijan is the oldest cycling tour in Iran.
According to IRNA, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this tour was not held in the last two years, and the 35th Tour of Iranian Azarbaijan will be held this year after a two-year break.
