Two Palestinians Martyred in Clashes With Zionist Troops
RAMALLAH (Dispatches) – Two Palestinians were martyred on Thursday in two separate incidents during clashes with Zionist troops in the West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry and eyewitnesses said.
The health ministry said in a short press statement that Yazan Afaneh, 26, was killed after he was shot by Zionist troops during clashes that broke out on Thursday morning in the West Bank city of al-Beereh.
Palestinian eyewitnesses said the clashes broke out after the regime’s army force stormed the city to raid homes and arrest Palestinian activists.
The health ministry statement also said that Samer Khaled, 25, was killed after he was shot by Zionist troops during clashes that broke out in Balata refugee camp, adjacent to the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
Palestinian security sources said a regime army force stormed the refugee camp at dawn to arrest a Palestinian wanted by the Zionist regime’s so-called security forces.
Clashes broke out between Palestinian resistance fighters and Zionist troops, during which Khaled was critically injured. He was taken to a hospital in Nablus but succumbed to his wounds, the sources said.
A Palestinian human rights group says Zionist troops have killed more than one hundred Palestinians, and wounded hundreds more during raids and various acts of aggression in the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip since the beginning of this year.
The Gaza-based Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) said in a report that 112 Palestinians, including 81 civilians, have lost their lives as a result of repeated assaults by the regime.
It added that among the victims were 32 people who were killed in the recent military onslaught on the Gaza Strip last month, and they included eight children and three women.
The PCHR reported that 1,277 civilians, including 195 children, 39 women and 22 journalists, were also injured in the West Bank and Gaza Strip during the mentioned period, adding that three Palestinians, including a woman, lost their lives in the Zionist regime’s prisons as well.
The Palestinian rights group also noted that Zionist troops have made 648 Palestinians, including 123 women and 300 children, homeless as a result of destruction of 113 homes and 41 residential structures since the beginning of the year.
It added that Zionist officials have bulldozed large areas of land in Palestinian territories, and delivered dozens of demolition orders and eviction notices to Palestinian families.
