A famous hadith which is also mentioned in the six authoritative texts (Sihah as-Sitta) of our Sunni Muslim brethren, including Sahih Bukhari, and at times quoted widely by scholars of present day Arab states of West Asia/North Africa, says that one day Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) patting his Iranian companion, Salman Farsi, said if faith were to be found in the Pleiades his people will obtain it.

Salman, true to the Divine commandment to the Prophet of Islam, was a staunch follower of the “Gateway of Knowledge and Wisdom”, Imam Ali ibn Abi Taleb (AS), and achieved ten degrees of faith – the highest by any companion. 

In the subsequent generations Salman’s people, the Iranians, by firmly adhering to the path of the Prophet’s Infallible Ahl al-Bayt, explored the various vistas of science and culture, including astronomy, to take the Islamic civilization to its pinnacle of glory, before the weak-willed rulers squandered these achievements by succumbing to the Mongol onslaught and later to the European colonial inroads.

Imam Khomeini (RA) stemmed the rot by abolishing decadent monarchial rule and ending American hegemony. Thanks to his foresight in establishing the Islamic system of government, today Iran is at the forefront of not just resistance against tyranny, treachery, and terrorism, by serving as the political role model for the freedom loving nations and movements, its mastery of science and technology has enabled it to venture into outer space.

The launching of various satellites of different capabilities into the atmosphere to orbit the Earth and provide valuable data is indeed undeniable proof of the striving of the Iranian Muslims towards the stars and Insha Allah to the Pleiades – as foretold by the Prophet.

Neither faith can be fettered nor knowledge can be shackled, whatever the stratagems of the satanic powers, such as the sanctions, or more properly the media/political/economic/industrial/cultural terrorism of the US against Islamic Iran. 

An indication is this regard is the advanced remote-sensing Khayyam Satellite that was sent into the Earth’s orbit on Tuesday, coinciding with the huge nationwide commemoration of the anniversary of history’s most heartrending tragedy (the martyrdom of the Prophet’s grandson Imam Husain – AS).

It was launched by Russia’s Soyuz-2.1b rocket, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in neighboring Kazakhstan. Placed 500 kilometers above the Earth’s surface, it is designed to send high-resolution images four times a day, which have already begun.

Imagery from the more than half a ton Khayyam will be used to monitor Iran’s borders and improve the country’s capabilities in management and planning in the fields of agriculture, natural resources, environment, mining, natural disasters, and several other fields.

According to the Iranian Space Agency’s (ISA) at the Mahdasht Space Base the Khayyam Satellite – named after the famous Iranian astronomer Omar Khayyam who flourished nine centuries ago – will be fully controlled by Iranian experts and technicians based inside Iran.

Other than Iran, no country or entity has any access to this satellite which is equipped with encrypted algorithms designed by ISA’s researchers.

The Islamic Republic is ready to share its achievements in modern science with the rest of the Muslim world for peaceful progress. 

All this means the faith of the Iranian people in Islam is all-triumphant and will flower more spectacularly in the future in order to defeat the devilish designs of the archenemies of humanity, the Americans and the Zionists in particular.
