The Universal Message of Imam Husain (AS)
Salaam dear young friends. May God Almighty accept your acts of devotion in commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of the Chief of Martyrs, Imam Husain (AS).
Millions of black-clad mourners thronged the streets of the various towns and cities of Iran over the past few days, chanting “Ya Husain” and “Ya Abbas” as they paid homage to the martyrs of the world’s most heartrending tragedy.
Karbala continues to stimulate the conscientious, whether young or old; whether men or women, and whether Muslim or non-Muslim.
In India, every year tens of thousands of Hindus turn out with offerings for the Muharram processions, and make vows to Imam Husain (AS) by seeking through his intercession with God Almighty, the birth of children, a good harvest, and prosperity in their daily life.
Meanwhile, as usual, this year also our Sunni brethren held special ceremonies for the first ten days of Muharram in honour of the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAWA) grandson, at mosques and Sufi hospices in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh, and other countries.
Imam Husain (AS) and his message of salvation is for all humanity, and only the devils in human form, such as the Takfiri terrorists and the heretical Wahhabis keep themselves away from the blessings that God Almighty showers at gatherings commemorating history’s most heartrending tragedy that occurred in Karbala in the year 61 AH (680 AD).
Well friends, maybe some of you youngsters were fortunate enough to be in Karbala for this year’s Ashura. Perhaps many of you are longing for joining the annual marathon march on foot from holy Najaf to holy Karbala for Arba’een, the traditional 40th day of the martyrdom of Imam Husain (AS).
This indomitable spirit of yours, whether you youngsters are Iranian or Iraqi, Lebanese or Bahraini, Pakistani or Indian, Afghan or Nigerian, American or European, or belonging to any part of the world, has scared the cowardly Takfiris and is beginning to sound the death knell for these despicable cannibalistic terrorists.
Your message of love, affection, compassion, magnanimity, monotheistic devotion and all humanitarian values, without the least doubt has been acquired from the Survivor of the Tragedy of Karbala, Imam Zain al-Abedin (AS), whose martyrdom anniversary we mark today on the 12th of Muharram (as per a narration).
Surely, the unique jihad of the 4th Imam, along with his courageous aunt, the Prophet’s granddaughter Hazrat Zainab (AS), continues to inspire conscientious people all over the world, especially the faithful women, who are promoters of peace and virtue in our contemporary societies.
Goodbye and God bless you, until we meet again next week.
